Heat loops

In an effort to get in some heat training, I had the bright idea of doing as much as I could starting around 4pm today. I originally planned to see if I could get in 20 loops @ 1.3 miles each for just around the marathon distance. HA! I only made it two, after which I was not only zapped but also feeling waves of nausea coming on. Not good. So much for that plan.
I decided to settle instead for a nice long, easy swim. I went to the gym and got in 90 solid minutes of easy effort laps. Though I was doing a modified breast stroke instead of freestyle, I was pretty much keeping up with some of the freestyle swimmers so I didn’t feel like I was moving all too slowly. The cool water sure beat the running heat!
